Chart

A device's related readings over time, as a line chart

The Chart widget plots the history of several related readings from a device over the time range chosen in the filter — for example a measured temperature together with its own setpoint.

A chart widget with several data series

The gear icon opens this chart's settings:

  • Device: which device is shown — defaults to "Current filter device", so it automatically follows the Filter widget.
  • Group (left axis): which set of related readings from that device are drawn as lines. Which groups are available depends on the device type.
  • Group (right axis): optionally a second group, shown on its own y-axis on the right — handy for comparing two values with very different scales in the same chart. Off by default.

With no Filter widget on the dashboard, the chart stays on "Current filter device" and shows nothing until you assign it a fixed device in its own settings.

Multiple charts

You can have as many Chart widgets on your dashboard as you like, each with its own device and group selection — via "Add another chart" at the bottom of the settings, or via the "+ Widget" button in the toolbar (see Adding widgets).
