PV system

Yield, output and grid data of your photovoltaic system live in the dashboard – without the manufacturer's cloud

Is my system running? How much has it generated today? And would I notice if a string failed? With the EcoPVGX your Growatt inverter gets a WiFi connection to EcoSensors.cloud instead of the Growatt cloud. Plug in the stick, enter your WiFi, register: done. Your values appear in the dashboard, and you are notified when something is wrong.

Why keep an eye on the system

Yield at a glance
Live output, yield today and in total: you see what your system really delivers.
Spot faults early
If a string fails or the inverter stops reporting, you notice it before the next bill, not after.
Independent of the manufacturer
Your data goes straight to you and not through the manufacturer's cloud.
Smart home optional
The values can additionally be integrated locally into Home Assistant.

How the values reach the cloud

DC WLAN 1234 PV modulesInverterEcoSensors.cloudDashboard generate powerwith EcoPVGX stickstores & evaluatesdisplay & alerts
  1. The PV modules supply direct current to the Growatt inverter.
  2. The EcoPVGX sits in the inverter's USB port and reads the same data as the original stick. But it does not send it to the Growatt cloud, it sends it over your WiFi to EcoSensors.cloud.
  3. EcoSensors.cloud stores and evaluates the values.
  4. In the dashboard you see curves and current values. Monitoring and Notifications speak up when values leave the normal range.

What is measured

Measurand What it tells you
Inverter status Is the system running, waiting for sun, or is there a fault?
PV strings 1 and 2: voltage, current, power How much each module string delivers. If one string deviates, that points to shading, dirt or a defect.
Grid L1/L2/L3: voltage, current, power What the system feeds into the grid, per phase and in total.
Grid frequency Condition of the grid at the feed-in point.
Yield today and in total Daily and total yield of the system.
Inverter temperature Early warning of overheating, e.g. due to poor ventilation.

At night the stick delivers no data. It is powered by the inverter from PV energy only and switches off without light. This is normal.

Ready in three steps

  1. Get the stick: as a ready-made EcoPVGX from us or as a conversion of your existing Growatt stick.
  2. Plug in and set up WiFi: plug the stick into the inverter's USB port (in daylight) and enter your WiFi via the hotspot ecopvgx-<ID>, see commissioning.
  3. Register: register the sensor in the cloud with its EcoSensor ID. The system then appears in your dashboard.

Compatible inverters

The EcoPVGX works with nearly every Growatt inverter that supports the original stick (ShineWiFi-X, USB port). Tested:

  • Growatt MOD 3-10KTL3-X & XH
  • Growatt MIC 600-3300TL-X
  • Growatt MIN 2500-4600TL-X & TL-XH
  • Growatt MID 11-40KTL3-X & XH

If you also use Home Assistant, choose the -ha firmware variant. It must be paired with Home Assistant, otherwise the stick restarts every 15 minutes. Everyone else takes the standard variant.

Other devices too

Other inverters, electricity meters and loads can be made cloud-ready with the Eco series, for example the smart-meter reader EcoMBR1 or the consumption meter EcoSPM.
